The picture that you’re imagined to project as a man and the realities of being a man in this day and age are quite different. We are all familiar with the male stereotype. You’re supposed be artless and uncaring about appearance. You’re speculated to be simple to the purpose of Neanderthal-like. The reality is far different. Males have to groom each bit as carefully as women do. Personally, I have been using Aveda hair products since I used to be 13, and if anything I’ve change into more involved about my appearance over the years.

I do not imply to advocate Aveda hair products over any other. I could just have easily settled for Paul Mitchell hair products or l’Oreal. The point that I am making is that I and judged by my appearance each bit as much as a lady is. I even use the identical Aveda hair merchandise as my sister does. That is how I realized to groom myself within the first place – from watching my sister.

And that brings me to my point. I couldn’t question me older brother about Aveeda hair products. It’s not that he didn’t learn about things like shampoo or perfume for men. He knew each bit as much as I now know. It is simply that it isn’t thought-about to be a manly subject of conversation. To question him about Aveda hair merchandise would have been tantamount to admitting that I used to be a girl. Solely girls, in spite of everything, are supposed to worry about their grooming and appearance. It does not matter that guys dread about these things every bit as much as girls do. What issues is that a guy can not talk to a different guy about Aveda hair products. Doing so is a threat to the masculine image.

Once I increase my own kids, I’m going to do it differently. My son will not learn how to shampoo his hair from his mother. He will be taught it from me. I’ll present him my Aveda hair merchandise along with my razer. He will start to bathe day by day earlier than he reaches puberty. He will take pride in his appearance from the age of Johnson and Johnson Shampoo to the age of Aveda hair products. That method, he will not need to deal with the hypocrisy that I had to deal with. He’ll develop up more healthy and more consistent.
